Iran film ‘Azar’ to vie in US

Iran film ‘Azar’ directed by Mohammad Hamzei has been scheduled to be screened at the 14th edition of Tiburon International Film Festival in the US.

Produced by Niki Karimi, the movie is to represent Iran at the American film event.

‘Azar’ tells the story of a woman whose husband is in jail, as she tries to manage the café restaurant she opened with her husband. She also tries to compromise to get her husband released, but things are not going as planned.

The film is Iranian actress Niki Karimi’s second production after ‘Night Shift’ besides directing some movies.

Niki Karimi, Hamidreza Azarang, Farid Sajjadi Hosseini, Hasti Mahdavi, Leila Zare, Maedeh Tahmasbi, Pejman Jamshidi and Houman Seyyedi are among the movie's cast.

Founded in 2004, The Tiburon International Film Festival (TIFF) is an annual event, which seeks to provide a greater understanding of the world and its many cultures through the artistic medium of film, and through the top quality films from around the world. 

The 14th edition of the event is slated for April 20-27, 2018 in California, The US.
